Paramadina Rector Anies Baswedan Spoke at SAIS Recently

[8 October, 2009] During his visit to the US, early October 2009, Paramadina University Rector, Anies Baswedan Ph.D. was invited to give a guest lecture in The Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), Johns Hopkins University (Washington, D.C.).

The school was established during World War II. SAIS became a division of The Johns Hopkins University in 1950. In 1963, SAIS moved to one of its three present buildings on Massachusetts Avenue, N.W. in Washington, D.C. SAIS also has campuses in Bologna, Italy (established in 1955), and Nanjing, China (established in 1986). (http://www.sais-jhu.edu/).

Anies Baswedan is the youngest rector in Indonesia. The US magazine ‘Foreign Policy’ named him as one of the top 100 public intellectuals in the world in May 2008, and the World Economic Forum included him in the 2009 Young Global Leaders. Paramadina University (www.paramadina.ac.id) has this year started its post-graduate program in another state-of-the-art campus in the heart of Jakarta (http://gradschool.paramadina.ac.id/).
